I chose to write about Lacey's twitter story. I found her story very interesting and engaging. She begins the story with lyrics "Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down..." from The Fresh Prince of Belair theme song. These familiar lyrics engage the reader and indicate that her story is going to be dramatic. She heightens the suspense in her next tweet by saying she will tell us how autocorrect killed her dad and her love. Ideas of love and death continue to spark our interest. After her introductory tweets, she begins a flashblack about her summer of 8th grade using a gif of four guys jumping for joy to demonstrate what a good time she was having. When describing her crush she bolds certain words to add vocal emphasis, "I met THE cutest guy". She uses hyperbole to exaggerate her excitement, "I almost died when he asked for my number". Lacey uses a light and playful tone that adhere to an audience of her peers as we can easily relate to the story. One of the tweets I found most funny and engaging was when she described getting to know her crush. She says, "We were trying to get to know each other so in typical 8th grade fashion we turned to 20 questions..." and includes a gif of Ellen with the caption "You can ask me anything you want, ask me anything". By using a gif of a famous celebrity and referring to a common game played when you are young, Lacey appeals to her audience using pathos.
