The exigence of the meme is that the little girl wants to eat Chik-Fil-A on a Sunday. The meme is funny because Chik-Fil-A is closed on Sundays. The unhappy facial expression that the young girl is making is what makes the meme funny. Children's facial expressions are often more exaggerated so they are more cute and funny. Many people are able to relate to this meme and find it amusing if they also feel upset when they drive past Chik-FIl-A on a Sunday and want to eat there but then remember that they can not because it is closed on Sundays. The mode that this meme uses is visual and digital. The media is a photograph specifically a meme; a photo with words on it. When you first look at the meme your eyes experience it in a "Z" formation. You start from the top and read the phrase "THAT FACE", then you see the child's face and then "When you want Chik-Fila-A on Sundays". The meme is black and white to give it an older feeling. The black and white photo may bring the audience to think back to their childhood. The text on the meme is all capitalized, bold, and white to stand out against the photo and appear to be yelling to give a more excited or playful feel to the meme.
